It is located in the center of Wutai Mountain. 五台山塔院寺与显通寺紧相毗邻。其实，历史上，塔院寺附属於显通寺，仅是显通寺的一个塔院；十六世纪明万历年间对寺宇进行改建时，塔院才和显通寺分开，独立成寺。 The Pagoda Temple of Wutai Mountain is adjacent to Xiantong temple. In fact, in history, the pagoda court temple is attached to Xiantong temple, which is only one of the pagodas of Xiantong temple. In the 16th century, when the temple was rebuilt in the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty, the pagoda court was separated from Xiantong temple and became an independent temple. 显通寺位於山西省五台山中心区大白塔北侧、菩萨顶脚下，是五台山佛教圣地中最古老的寺院。因寺院所在山峰颇似佛祖说法的云鹫山，故名「大孚灵鹫寺」。显通寺相传始建於东汉明帝永平十一年（六八年），距今已有一千九百多年，略晚於洛阳白马寺数年，所以有人称之为中国的第二座古寺。唐朝武则天称为「大华严寺」；明朝重修时朱元璋赐额「大显通寺」；明万历年改为「永明寺」；清康熙改名为「大显通寺」，沿用至今。 Xiantong temple is located at the north side of the great white pagoda and at the foot of the Bodhisattva top in the central area of Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province. It is the oldest temple in the Buddhist holy land of Wutai Mountain. Because the mountain where the temple is located is similar to the Yunjiu mountain as the Buddha said, it is named "Dafu lingjiu Temple". It is said that Xiantong temple was built in the 11th year of Yongping (68th year) of the Ming emperor of the Eastern Han Dynasty, more than 1900 years ago, and a few years later than Baima temple in Luoyang, so it is called the second ancient temple in China. In the Tang Dynasty, Empress Wu was called "Da Huayan Temple"; in the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Yuanzhang granted "Da Xiantong Temple"; in the Wanli year of the Ming Dynasty, it was changed to "Yongming Temple"; in the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, it was changed to "Da Xiantong Temple", which is still in use today. |
